Flexible

The flexible filament is an elastomer material that, as its name suggests, is not rigid and allows us to create parts with elasticity. This material has high tensile strength and is widely used in the fashion world.

We can give greater or lesser degree of flexibility, depending on the geometry of the piece, the filling and the thickness of the outer walls.

It is the ideal filament for printing flexible and resistant objects. It is characterized by unique properties in the market, it is resistant to bending, traction, compression, temperature and tearing in the direction of the layers.

Our integrated system certified to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards ensures that our processes are aimed at achieving maximum product quality and minimum environmental impact.

We care about the planet and the health of its inhabitants; our products comply with the demanding REACH regulation, which guarantees the absence of extremely worrying substances, and we are committed to the circular economy with the reduction of packaging and ECOEMBES management for the correct recycling and reuse of the same.

These filaments are generally soft and elastic and can withstand high loads.

Properties:

  • Resistant to bending, tension, compression, temperature, and tearing.
  • Multiple applications such as the automotive industry, cable coverings, or rubber-like applications such as shoe soles.

Printing Parameters:

  • Printing temperature: 230 ºC – 240 ºC.
  • Bed temperature: 60 ºC – 80 ºC.
  • Recommended printing speed: 20-40 mm/s.
  • Closed chamber (recommended).

Flexible Filament for 3D Printer

Flexible filament is an elastomeric plastic material with added plasticizing chemical additives that enhance its flexibility and elasticity properties.

Additionally, these additives reduce the printing temperature and make the material more stable. This way, we can print flexible materials relatively easily, shaping our pieces as desired.

Printing Tips:

  • It needs to be slightly tensioned during printing and have no free gaps in the extruder.
  • Slow speeds.
  • Closed environment.
  • Low retractions.

Other materials like PLA or ABS are rigid and do not have these properties.

Advantages of Flexible Filament

  • High resistance to breakage from material fatigue.
  • Excellent impact absorption.
  • Moderate stretchability and the ability to return to its shape once the force is removed.
  • Very soft material.

Applications for Flexible Filament

Flexible filaments are commonly used for automotive parts, appliances, or medical devices.

However, flexible filaments have many more applications:

  • Mobile phone cases.
  • Electronic devices, parts for the automotive and aerospace sectors, gaskets, seals, shock absorbers, prosthetics.
  • Joints or connections requiring some flexibility.

Flexible TPE Filament

If you’re looking for flexibility in your 3D prints without compromising on a good finish, flexible TPE filament offers these qualities. It is a filament manufactured in Spain for 3D printers with FFF/FDM technology.

The flexible TPE filament is a moldable material with excellent elastic response. It requires a low printing speed to avoid layer adhesion issues and stringing problems.

It can be used to create parts that need to bend or flex to fit with other pieces.

Common Applications:

  • Mobile phone cases.
  • Clothing items.
