3D printer filament is the consumable that our 3D machines need to print all of our jobs and projects.
Stop for a moment and think about everything you could do if you had a 3D printer. For many it is unknown, but this type of printing opens up a whole world of possibilities, both to create functional objects, such as prostheses, or simply creative models, such as games or decoration. You just need some good 3D printing filaments, a printer and a design to start creating.

What are 3D filaments?

Filaments are the raw material with which to create your designs, i.e. the traditional ink cartridge, which encompasses a myriad of options and qualities for 3D printers. These filaments are melted and extruded through a hot nozzle to create three-dimensional objects layer by layer. In our store, we offer a variety of filaments to meet all your printing needs – we have an extensive collection at Winkle!
Filament for 3D printers comes in spools, in various sizes, colors, types and with various properties.
You can find them in two sizes:

  • 1.75mm coils: this is the most common thickness.
  • 2.85mm coils: more commonly used in industrial 3D printers.

Where can I buy filaments for 3D printers?

When buying filaments, you have to take into account the different characteristics of each one and see which one best suits the needs of the project. At Winkle, your online 3D printing filament store, you can choose from a wide variety and range of colors:

  • PLA filaments: it is the most widely used material in 3D printing today, of natural origin and biodegradable. Its main advantages are the highest quality in definition, finish and resistance.

It is easy to extrude, i.e., it does not require a printing bed and does not emit a bad odor in the printing process.

  • ABS filaments: Acrylonitrile butadiene butadiene styrene or ABS is the second most popular 3D filament after PLA, although it is actually slightly superior to PLA. It is a material that is highly resistant to impact and thermal deformation.

Products made with this type of filament have a longer service life and can withstand high temperatures.

  • PETG filament: it is a modified filament designed for 3D printing. This filament is becoming more and more demanded because it provides more heat resistance than PLA, it is resistant to impacts and temperature more or less like ABS.

-In addition, it prints much easier than ABS.
-On the other hand, it is more difficult to post process than ABS.

  • Flexible Filaments: thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) have elastic properties, which makes them extremely flexible and durable, as is the case of TENAFLEX, a material with a high quality finish, color and shine, which you can only find at Winkle.

Why buy filament from Winkle?

Avoid these 3 mistakes during your 3D printing

This text mentions three common errors that can occur during 3D printing: warping, cracking and Z wobble. Warping occurs when the part peels off the printing surface due to the shrinkage of the material due to temperature differences. To avoid this, it is recommended to use a heated bed, calibrate the printer correctly and apply […]
