In response to the growing demands of our customers, we have incorporated this new material into our catalogue. The key? ➡︎Satisfying the needs for strength and durability in your most demanding projects, providing the results you were looking for.
PLA Tough filament is one of the most used materials in 3D printing due to its qualities. In addition, as it is made from lactic acid, it is a biodegradable and environmentally friendly material.
If we had to highlight something about the new PLA Tough we would say that it is easy to print like PLA and with superior impact resistance, it is the perfect combination for tools and even large parts.

Properties of Tough PLA

This is an advanced material that has greater impact resistance, greater heat tolerance and excellent machinability, making it perfect for manufacturing functional prototypes and end-use parts.

  • Impact resistance of 30 kJ/m2
  • High printing speed: 300 mm/s
  • Rigid, strong and durable
  • Excellent layer adhesion
  • No warpage or shrinkage
  • Matte industrial finish
  • Excellent machinability properties that allow multiple post-processing techniques, such as drilling, sanding, CNC, threading, etc…¡Disponible en 4 colores!: Black, Dark Blue,
  • Iron Grey y Natural!

3D industrial applications

We are very happy with this filament and we are sure that it is the right material for your high-impact “industrial” applications ⛓ .
But, in addition, with PLA Tough you can create many prototypes:

  • It can be used to print work tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers or machine parts.
  • It can be used to print industrial parts, such as spare parts or machine components.
  • Manufacturing aids such as templates or molds.

PLA vs PLA Tough

The main difference between normal PLA filament and Tough PLA is impact resistance. Tough PLA has a slightly higher thermal resistance than normal PLA, and can withstand temperatures of up to 70º. Its mechanical resistance is improved compared to PLA.
In static conditions, both materials behave in a similar way, but if any type of impact is applied, Tough PLA wins without a doubt.

  • PLA has a shiny surface finish. PLA Tough has a matte surface finish.
  • Tough PLA could be used as an alternative to ABS, thanks to its high impact resistance.
  • Both materials have the same thermal resistance.

Flexible filament for 3D printers

Flexible filament, known as TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), is a 3D printing material that stands out for its elasticity and strength. It allows the creation of objects that can be bent, stretched and compressed without breaking, making it ideal for applications such as prototyping automotive parts, phone cases, shoes and toys. TPU is resistant to chemicals, […]
