PLA Wood

This wood filament allows you to model 3D printed parts or objects that look like wood carvings.

Winkle Wood PLA filament is an innovative and eco-friendly option for your 3D printing projects. It is a biodegradable thermoplastic with natural wood fibers.

Ideal if you want to create parts with a natural wood finish!

Main features of Wood PLA

With a unique composition of PLA and a percentage of natural wood fibers, which gives this type of filament an increased stiffness compared to standard PLA. On the other hand, its final finish is very authentic with a rustic touch.

Winkle Wood filament is easy to print with, requiring no special settings on your printer other than the recommendation to use a 0.6 mm nozzle (minimum).

By using Wood filament, you get the look, feel and appearance of wood in the final piece.

Properties of wood filament for 3D printers:

Properties of wood filament for 3D printers:

  • Higher resistance to thermal deformation and higher dimensional stability.
  • Flexibility: Low.

Printing parameters:

  • Printing temperature: 190 ºC – 220 ºC.
  • Bed temperature: 50 ºC – 60 ºC.
  • Recommended printing speed: 40-70 mm/s.
  • It is recommended to use a minimum nozzle of 0.6 mm.

Can I use PLA Silk in any 3D printer?

Wood filament is generally compatible with most printers using 1.75mm filament.

However, it is important to check the printer specifications and adjust the printing temperature according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Storage of Wood filament:

Winkle recommends storing it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

It is also important to keep in mind that humidity can affect the print quality of the filament, so we recommend using it in an environment with low relative humidity.

At Winkle we are committed to caring for the environment, which is why our wood filament is biodegradable.

This way, you can enjoy 3D printing with the peace of mind that you are using a sustainable and environmentally friendly material.

Our integrated system certified to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards guarantees that our processes are aimed at achieving the highest quality of our products and their minimum environmental impact.

We care about the planet and the health of its inhabitants; our products comply with the demanding REACH regulation, which guarantees the absence of extremely worrying substances, and we are committed to the circular economy with the reduction of packaging and the efforts of ECOEMBES for the correct recycling and reuse of the same.

Wood filament applications

It is recommended for use in projects that do not require high mechanical strength.

  • Picture frames.
  • Miniature furniture.
  • Decorative pieces that require an aesthetic and feel similar to wood.
  • Prototypes, decoration, visual models, educational projects.
