Filament Flexible
▷ Flexible filament, adds elasticity

Flexible filament is an elastomeric material which, as its name suggests, is not rigid and allows us to create elastic parts. This material has high tensile strength and is widely used in the fashion industry.

We can give it a greater or lesser degree of flexibility, depending on the geometry of the piece, the infill, and the thickness of the outer walls.

It is the ideal filament for printing flexible and resistant objects. It is characterized by unique properties on the market, being resistant to bending, traction, compression, temperature, and tearing in the direction of the layers.

Our integrated system, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, guarantees that our processes are aimed at achieving the highest quality of our products and the lowest possible environmental impact.

We care about the planet and the health of its inhabitants; our products comply with the demanding REACH regulation, which guarantees the absence of substances of very high concern, and we are committed to the circular economy with the reduction of packaging and ECOEMBES' efforts for the correct recycling and reuse of the same.

These filaments are generally soft and elastic and can withstand high loads.

Properties:

  • Resistant to bending, traction, compression, temperature, and tearing.
  • Multiple applications such as the automotive industry, cable sheathing, or rubber-like applications such as shoe soles.

Printing parameters:

  • Printing temperature: 230°C – 240°C.
  • Bed temperature: 60 °C – 80 °C.
  • Recommended printing speed: 20-40 mm/s.
  • Closed chamber (recommended).

Flexible filament 3D printer

Flexible filament is an elastomeric plastic material to which chemical plasticizing additives are added to increase its flexibility and elasticity properties.

These additives also reduce the printing temperature and make the filament more stable. This allows us to print flexible materials with relative ease, giving our pieces the shape we want.

Printing tips:

  • It needs to be slightly taut during printing and there should be no free space in the extruder.
  • Slow speeds.
  • Closed environment.
  • Low retractions.

Other materials such as PLA or ABS are rigid and do not have these properties.

Advantages of Flexible filament

  • High resistance to material fatigue failure.
  • Absorbs impacts very well.
  • Moderate stretchability and shape recovery once force is removed.
  • Very soft material.

Applications for Flexible Filament

Flexible filaments are commonly used for automotive parts, household appliances, and medical devices.

But flexible filaments have many more applications:

  • Cell phone cases.
  • Electronic devices, automotive and aerospace parts, gaskets, seals, and shock absorbers, prosthetics.
  • Joints or connections that require a certain degree of flexibility.

TPE flexible filament

If you are looking for flexibility in your 3D prints without sacrificing a good finish, flexible TPE filament offers these qualities. It is a filament manufactured in Spain for 3D printers with FFF/FDM technology.

Flexible TPE filament is a moldable material with high elastic response. It requires a low printing speed to avoid layer adhesion and stringing problems.

It can be used to create parts that need to bend or flex to fit into other pieces.

Common applications:

  • Cell phone cases.
  • Clothing.
