Winkle's PETG FR (Flame Retardant) filament is a technical material designed for applications where improved flame resistance is required, complying with European standard EN 13501-1 with a B-s1,d0 classification.
This classification implies:
Low contribution to fire (B).
Low smoke emission (s1).
No flaming droplets (d0).
This PETG therefore avoids risks due to poor contacts, electrical faults, or accidental exposure to a heat source. These qualities make it a very interesting option for:
Electronics and technical enclosures.
Home automation and Smart Home projects.
Custom lighting and signage.
Mobility and light automotive.
Functional components for 3D printers.
Advanced technical prototyping.
In addition, it maintains the classic advantages of more technical PETG: high mechanical and chemical resistance, excellent interlayer adhesion, low shrinkage and deformation, and dimensional stability.
Tests show excellent performance in the range of 220°C to 240°C.
Optimal adhesion when the layer temperature is maintained between 140°C and 155°C.
Ultra-transparent finish: provides exceptional optical clarity and light transmission for design projects.
This PETG has been modified with flame retardant additives to improve its performance when exposed to localized heat.
Its EN 13501-1: B-s1,d0 classification makes it suitable for applications where a safer and more controlled material in terms of flame and smoke generation is a priority.
The filament burns with greater difficulty.
The flame spreads more slowly.
The risk of dripping or spreading is reduced.
B: low contribution to fire.
s1: low smoke emission.
d0: no flaming droplets.
This material is ideal if:
You design electronic projects that generate heat.
You manufacture technical housings or enclosures.
You need a material with EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 classification.
You are looking for greater control over flame spread in standardized tests.
You work in advanced or semi-professional maker environments.
This is a technical filament. It is not intended for beginners, but for users who adjust parameters and seek real functional performance.
Recommended applications:
Technical casings, electronic parts, signage, light guides, lighting fixtures, secure illuminated signs, interior design, functional prototypes, industrial supports, translucent or transparent furniture components, components for installations and projects where a material with better fire performance is required.
